Frisomat introduces the most flexible sandwich panel line in Belgium

Frisomat, international player in industrial buildings, brings a brand-new sandwich panel line into use. The production line, the biggest in Belgium in its kind, is 114m long and custom made for Frisomat. After a year full of development, assembly and tests, we take the production line in use as of May. The sandwich panel line will be operated by 4 specially trained operatives.

Biggest production line in Belgium in its kind

The production line will continuously manufacture insulation panels. The machine is accommodated in a 3.000m² production hall, specially built for this purpose. A lot of efforts have been done to keep the temperature steady. The production line is custom made for Frisomat, where flexibility, short transformation times and quality are very important.

The sandwich panel line can produce up to 8 different roof and side panels, up to 30cm thick. Panels of this thickness are ideal for cold storage rooms etc. Per minute, the production line can produce 8m of sandwich panel.

An optimized production for recyclability

A sandwich panel consists of two steel sheets where an insulation core is put between. Even though the sandwich panel line is able to work with different lagging, Frisomat chooses to use rock wool and EPS. Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) is an excellent insulator where rock wool has the unique feature to be 100% fire resistant.

EPS-Sandwich panels have the advantage to be perfectly recyclable, in comparison to the classical PUR (Polyurethane) and PIR (Polyisocyanurate) panels.

A well-insulated building can easily keep a constant temperature whether it has to be cold or hot. This has a positive influence on the energy consumption. The use of sandwich panels can guarantee this kind of insulation, moreover, thermal bridges are excluded. Ecology is a hot item. The new sandwich panels are there for the environmentally conscious entrepreneur.
